The Pedro Arrupe Human Rights Institute is an academic institution created in 1997 and linked to the University of Deusto.

Its main reason for being is to work in favor of a culture of human rights , from a university perspective, and with a marked social and international vocation.

Currently 20 people make up the Institute's team, which carries out its work through teaching , research , awareness-raising and social impact .

Mission

The Pedro Arrupe Human Rights Institute of the University of Deusto is an independent, non-profit academic organization that works to promote Human Rights through research, teaching, awareness-raising and social intervention.

Vision

The Institute wants to be recognized as a reference organization in the promotion of Human Rights in the domestic and international spheres:

  • critical of social reality and committed to its transformation
  • open to collaborating in a network with entities that pursue the same objectives on an international level
  • made up of a team of people identified with the values it promotes
  • equipped with a structure that enhances the professional development of its members
